Abstract
Beamtime Request
Questions
Review Panel

NOTE: This section does not apply or appear for Rapid Access mail-in requests (limited to 1 shift per proposal).
Standard proposals (i.e, for on-site experiments) may have multiple requests on a single proposal. This may be to continue a long term study, or to submit a non-allocated proposal for review again. Note: unallocated proposals "age up", improving their review score for each BTR submitted and not scheduled.
APS proposals expire after two years, or when all allocated time has been used.
Shifts for life of proposal: This is the TOTAL number of shifts requested for the lifetime of the proposal. On-Site reviewed proposals typically require at least ~3 shift (24 hours) per proposal or multiple requests for different cycles (see above). You cannot mix on-site and mail-in access in a single proposal.
What scheduling period: Check the APS proposal deadline calendar to confirm the current cycle, and to see future run cycle dates. The APS typically runs 3 cycles per year in the wnter/spring, summer, and fall (i.e. 20XX-1, 20XX-2, and 20XX-3, respectively)
Technique: Select Powder diffraction
Beamline/Instrument: Select "11-BM-B".
Any appropriate beamline: Select "No"
Number of shifts for this request: The maximum value here depends on the previous lifetime shift request and the number of shifts already used (if any) against this proposal.
Minimum number of usable shifts: This answer will vary for standard on-site proposals.
